African swine fever poses problems for the pig industry in Europe, as foreign partners refuse to continue negotiations on the supply of European pork because of the spread of the virus, pigua.info reported.

In Poland, certificates of animal health are one of the main ways to combat ASF. Without them, it is impossible to sell meat abroad. However, farmers demand their cancelation, pigua.info reported.

According to the information of the General Directorate of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in the Kyiv region, on May 2, 2018 a disease and death of pigs was recorded in the private farm household (Matiashivka village, Obukhivskyi district, Kyiv region), agronews.ua reported.
