According to the information of the General Directorate of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in the Kyiv region, on May 2, 2018 a disease and death of pigs was recorded in the private farm household (Matiashivka village, Obukhivskyi district, Kyiv region), agronews.ua reported.
In the study of selected samples of biomaterial in the State Research Institute for Laboratory Diagnostics and the Veterinary and Sanitary Expertise (Kyiv), on May 2, 2018, DNA of the African swine fever virus (ASF) was identified (report on the results of the study No. 004269 p.m./18 of 02/05/2018).
To coordinate the actions for localization and elimination of the ASF outbreak, a meeting of the State Extraordinary Epizootic Committee of the Obukhivskyi District State Administration was held on May 2, 2018, the decision of which approved the plan for the elimination of ASF, the borders of the epizootic focus, protection zones and surveillance.
In the hearth of the disease, measures are taken to localize and prevent the spread of the pathogen of ASF.
