The Chairman of the Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protectionmet with the representatives of the European Business Association on the finalization of the draft law "On the safety and hygiene of feeds" (registration No. 2845), which was recently adopted by the parliament in the first reading.
The participants of the meeting noted that today in Ukraine there is no corresponding sectoral legislation regulating the processes of hygiene of production and feed handling.
Therefore, now work on this bill is an important stage not only for improving the national legislative framework, but also in the framework of harmonization of legislation with EU requirements.
The draft law "On food safety and hygiene" defines the issues of production, export, import, use, labeling, transportation, storage and maintenance of feed and feedstuffs, safety and hygiene of fodder in Ukraine.
The adoption of this legislative act will allow the introduction of unified rules and requirements for both domestic and foreign producers and feed suppliers, to regulate their registration, to establish a clear list of products for the production of which it is necessary to obtain a permissive document, to establish the rights and duties of operators of the feed market and responsibility for violation of legislation on feed.
Participants of the meeting paid special attention to the registration of feed and feed stuff.
