Given the complex epizootic situation with foot and mouth disease in the countries of the East, Russia, Turkey, today the issue of creating a vaccine reserve is in dire need of solution.
This was during the meeting of the Scientific and Methodological Council of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, Boris Kobal, Director of the Department of Food Safety and Veterinary Medicine, the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection. This was reported by the press service of the department.
During the event, issues of the state of development and introduction of modern diagnostic tools and specific prevention of economically significant and especially dangerous animal infectious diseases, the procedure for the development, submission, review and approval of documents of a scientific and methodical nature (recommendations, guidelines, instructions), appointment of experts for consideration draft instructions on measures for the prevention and control of chlamydia in farm animals, with brucellosis of animals, infectious endimit of sheep.
Director of the Food Safety and Veterinary Medicine Department of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, Boris Kobal, drew attention to the need and principles for the formation of a reserve of foot-and-mouth disease vaccine and a strategy for anti-epizootic activities in the event of an outbreak of the disease.
During the discussion of this problem, the members of the scientific and methodological council made proposals on the formation of a reserve of disinfectants, the creation of a mobile working group consisting of scientists, representatives of the territorial bodies of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection and diagnostic institutions for timely response and carrying out measures to eliminate the disease.
Suggestions were made to consider these issues at a meeting of the State Emergency Anti-Epizootic Commission under the government.
