On April 17th the head of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection Volodymyr Lapa and representatives of the program of reducing the biological threat of the US Threat Reduction Agency discussed raising the level of safety on the territory of Ukraine regarding infectious animal diseases. According to the information of the Main Directorate of the State Food Consumption Service in the Zhytomyr region, on 17.04.2018 a disease and death of pigs was registered in the subsidiary farm of the Berdychiv correctional colony No. 70 (Berdychiv city, Zhytomyr region), agronews.ua reported.

According to the information of the Main Directorate of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in Vinnytsia region, a wild boar was shot on the territory of hunting grounds of the state enterprise "Dashivske" (Illinetskyi district).

Since the beginning of the year, 41 cases of African swine fever (ASF) have been reported in Ukraine, with the average number of diseases among domestic pigs has declined.
