Ukrainian exports to Canada were replenished with 154 new commodity items.

This was reported by Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade - Ukraine's trade representative Nataliia Mykolska, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

According to the deputy minister, non-primary goods showed the greatest increase.

"Growth concerns such positions as devices on liquid crystals, sound electrical equipment, flour, and equipment for processing rubber and plastic, equipment using X-rays, printing equipment. From agricultural products - juice, honey, sunflower oil. That is, positions with high added value are growing, "- notes Nataliia Mykolska.

In monetary terms, the new 154 export positions account for a total export volume of $ 10.2 million. The export in new niche segments is significantly increasing. In some of them, the increase is from 500% to 8000%.

"Such figures mean that there are filling new niches previously unoccupied, such as energy equipment and agricultural equipment. Experience shows that the growth of exports occurs first by filling new niches, and only then goes on to expand the existing ones sectors of export, "- says Roman Vashchuk, Ambassador of Canada to Ukraine.

According to the forecast calculations, the implementation of the agreement will result in insignificant losses of the state budget revenues, in particular, from cancellation of import duties - by about $ 1.2 million in the first year of the agreement. At the same time, they can be offset by VAT, as well as an increase in the inflow of foreign direct investment of about $ 36 million over 3 years.

According to the State Fiscal Service, the trade between Ukraine and Canada in January-September 2017 amounted to $ 230.264 million.

For eight months, exports of goods to Canada increased by 70.9% compared to January-August 2016, or by $ 12.9 million - to $ 31.2 million.

The Ukrainian government expects a 10-fold increase in exports - up to $ 200-300 million in the next five years.
