Ways of development of rural areas were discussed with the public in the Ministry of Agrarian Policy

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy is interested in diversifying economic activity in rural areas, one of which is rural tourism.

This was stated by Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on farming and rural development Viktor Sheremeta during a working meeting with representatives of the NGO Union for the Promotion of Rural Green Tourism in Ukraine.

"World practice shows that for many countries this type of activity as rural tourism is not separated from agricultural production and is one of the mechanisms of rural development.
Possessing significant tourist and recreational potential, a complex of historical, cultural and architectural monuments and natural and climatic resources, Ukraine has every opportunity to become one of the leading European tourist centers, " notes Viktor Sheremeta.

During the meeting it was decided to create a joint platform for the generation of new ideas, discussions and exchange of experience between the Ministry, representatives of the public and producers of agricultural products with the goal of developing rural areas.

In particular, during subsequent meetings, ways will be developed to strengthen the motivation of rural communities to develop social infrastructure, create new jobs by providing favorable legislative conditions for the growth of the number of agro-fairs that provide services to the population in the field of rural green tourism.
