Ukraine and the European Union have significant results of cooperation in many sectors of the economy. Therefore, the parties are interested in further deepening business relations and creating new joint projects in the agricultural sector.

This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on issues of European integration Olha Trofimtseva, the press service of the ministry reports.

"We are pleased to note the positive impact of the signed FTA agreement between Ukraine and the EU on our bilateral trade. Despite the fact that Ukraine and the EU are often competitors in the world agricultural markets, we simultaneously have many common themes for cooperation. Therefore, we need to find niches and directions in which we can act as partners. Cooperation, the development of rural areas are just some of the examples, " says the Deputy Minister for European Integration.

Deputy Minister Viktor Sheremeta added that one of the important directions of the work of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy is to stimulate the development of small-scale farms engaged in the production of niche crops.

"We are working to help such producers with certification of products for their inclusion in the" civilized "product distribution chains, including exports. We have examples of high-quality products, for example cheeses, which, I am sure, could go to the EU market, " says he.

Pekka Pesonen, Secretary General of the EU Farmers' Association "Copa-Cogeca", noted that the formation of a "single voice of farmers" is extremely important for the success of Ukraine in the world agricultural markets, as well as in lobbying the interests of the agricultural sector in working with the state. He also expressed his readiness to actively cooperate with Ukrainian agrarian associations.

"I would like to emphasize that it is extremely important for the Ukrainian agrarian business to form a unified position on the key directions of the sector's development. And we from the side of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy are always open for constructive dialogue with associations, and are also ready to cooperate with our European colleagues, " sums up Trofimtseva.
