The fulfillment of the instruction of the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groisman on inspections of children's leisure and health improvement institutions for observance of sanitary norms and safe nutrition should be an unconditional priority. This was discussed during the board meeting on the results of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection for the first half of 2018, the press service of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection reported.

Participation in the event was made by First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Maksym Martyniuk, Head of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection Volodymyr Lapa, representatives of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, heads of the Main Departments of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in the regions and city of Kyiv, regional state veterinary and sanitary control and supervision at the state border and transport, state research and control institutes, SE  “Agency for Animal Identification and Registration”, SE “Ukrvetsanzavod”.

Volodymyr Lapa said that last week he instructed the territorial bodies of the Service, according to which they should strengthen their activities to control and supervise the observance of sanitary norms and safe nutrition in organized children's groups.

"This is the moment of truth for us. Each of the chiefs of the main directorates in the regions should take control of the organization and the course of health improvement and leisure of children. We are not interested in reporting, but the result is important to stop the facts of mass poisoning of people. I emphasize that the health season ends in a few weeks, and, for example, in October, this work will lose some of its relevance," Volodymyr Lapa said.

He also urged the heads of territorial bodies to involve in this work both specialists, law enforcement bodies, and other interested bodies of executive power.

In turn, First Deputy Minister Maksym Martyniuk noted a more responsible attitude on the ground to fulfill his duties, in particular, state supervision over compliance with sanitary legislation.

"When you work just imagine that your child is resting in this particular camp, and your family is going to the catering center," Maksym Martyniuk said.

Also, in his opinion, it is necessary to improve approaches and ways of informing the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection about cases of mass poisonings.

"The system should be developed as soon as possible to inform the specialists of the service," - he stressed, and called for analyzing the existing problems and developing appropriate proposals.
