According to the State Statistics Service, on August 1, 2018 in Ukraine there were 3 million 972.3 thousand heads of cattle that is 4.3% higher than a year earlier (4 million 149.1 thousand heads), agronews.ua reported.
The number of cows in Ukraine decreased by 3.4% over the year from 2 million 105.5 thousand heads to 2 million 33.1 thousand heads.
In addition, the number of pigs in Ukraine decreased by 4.9% - from 6 million 850,7 thousand to 6,517.2 thousand.
At the same time the amount of domesticated poultry increased by 4.5% - 237 million 283.1 thousand to 247 million 846.6 thousand.
