Significant progress has been achieved in the sphere of access of Ukrainian agroindustrial products to the Chinese market

Over the past year, Ukraine and the People's Republic of China have made serious progress in the development of bilateral relations, in particular in the agrarian sector. Such positive dynamics opens up new opportunities and prospects for deepening cooperation between the two countries.

This was stated by the chairman of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection Volodymyr Lapa, the press service of the ministry said.

"In April of this year, State Procurement Service and AQSIQ signed a Protocol of inspection, quarantine and veterinary-sanitary requirements for the export of frozen beef from Ukraine to the People's Republic of China," says Volodymyr Lapa.

According to the results of cooperation, Ukraine receives the right to export dairy products to the Chinese market. Last year, the list of enterprises that have the right to export dairy products to China, the Chinese side has expanded to 27 market operators.

In addition, in September 2017, protocols of phytosanitary and inspection requirements for the export of sunflower meal and beet pulp from Ukraine to China were signed.

"In other words, over the past year, serious progress has been made in terms of access to the Chinese market of a number of goods that are critical from the point of view of developing the potential of the Ukrainian agrarian sector. Moreover - in this case it is not about raw materials, but about products with a certain added value. That is, access to the Chinese market is still the formation of value added and jobs in Ukraine," says Volodymyr Lapa.

According to him, such results were achieved, including through constructive relations with the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Ukraine and the Ukrainian Embassy in China, as well as the constant dialogue between the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection and the competent authorities of the People's Republic of China.

The Chairman of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protectionalso noted that now competent authorities of both countries are working to expand the range of fish products that can be imported into the Chinese market, the supply of Ukrainian egg products, poultry products, sweet cherry, blueberries, etc.

"We have ambitious plans. The results that we have recently show positive dynamics, and we are convinced that this dynamic in our relations will continue, "Lapa summed up.

Recall that bilateral relations between Ukraine and China have the character of a strategic partnership, reflect the centuries-old traditions of friendship and cooperation between the two nations, as evidenced by the increase in recent years of trade between countries, the expansion of the range of products, in particular animal and vegetable origin.
