Ukraine is preparing to introduce a unified system for monitoring diseases, which will include more than 700 subjects

On September 22, the specialists of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection (the SSUFSCP) took part in a meeting with representatives of the US Embassy in Ukraine on the implementation of the Biological Threat Reduction Program.

During the meeting, a preliminary plan for the implementation of the Electronic Integrated Disease Surveillance System (ELIDSS) was discussed. The SSUFSCP will participate in the functioning of this system.

The preliminary plan for the implementation of ELIDSS in the SSUFSCP includes a description of the roles and responsibilities of the SSUFSCP agencies that are involved in the implementation of ELIDSS, the information flows between them and the mechanisms for their operation. Now this system is being filled and the training of experts of the territorial agencies of the SSUFSCP is being organized.
 
The centralized apparatus of the SSUFSCP, the State Scientific Research Institute for Laboratory Diagnostics and the Veterinary and Sanitary Expertise (Kiev), the Regional State Administration of SSUFSCP, 24 regional state laboratories, 544 regional territorial agencies of the SSUFSCP will enter the Electronic Integrated Disease Surveillance System. In addition, the system will include 103 border inspection posts, 12 research institutes. In total, 716 access points to this ELIDSS system are planned.
