Indonesia is ready to buy halal beef in Ukraine

This was discussed at a meeting with the representative of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine reports.
"Indonesia is a promising market for Ukrainian agricultural and food products. The volume of agricultural trade between the countries for 8 months of 2017 increased by 35% compared to last year's period. We have every opportunity to increase exports, " says Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Olena Kovalova.

Since 2016, exports to Indonesia have nearly tripled. Ukrainian exporters are attracted by low import duties, loyal policy in the sphere of phytosanitary norms and demand for high-quality agricultural products. Ukraine became one of 10 countries that certified their laboratories on time in accordance with Indonesian law.

Now, officials are working on accessing Ukrainian livestock products to the Indonesian market. The State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection collects a list of interested Ukrainian producers for the subsequent processing of the necessary documents for opening access of Ukrainian beef to the Indonesian market.
The service also received samples of questionnaires for the export of beef according to the "halal" standard, which, in case of interest in export, should be filled in and information on production capacities transferred.
