The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine has developed legislative changes that will make it possible to toughen requirements for violators of weight control. The State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety will have the right to restrict the movement of trucks with excess weight, and the size of fines will be increased.

This was stated by the Minister of the Ministry of Infrastructure Volodymyr Omelian, writes Centre for Transport Strategies.

So, when examining mobile weighing of complexes, Vice Prime Minister Volodymyr Kistion asked the inspector of the State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety, the department can limit the movement of vehicles, which has excess weight recorded.

The department noted that, unfortunately, today, the law does not provide for traffic restriction. It is necessary to make legislative changes, also it is necessary to provide parking for sludge vehicles.
At the same time, Omelian specified that the Ministry of Infrastructure has already prepared such changes, which will be considered by the Verkhovna Rada in the coming months.

"Now we have two eurointegration bills (concerning weight control). I hope that the Verkhovna Rada will support them during the infrastructural day, " says the minister.

As previously reported, the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine concluded an agreement on the supply and installation of 7 stationary weighing complexes for measuring the mass of vehicles in traffic for a total of 2.29 million UAH.
