Latvia is ready to support Ukraine in the process of reforms, primarily in the field of agriculture.

This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Edgars Rinkevics, the Government portal reports.
 
In this regard, the effective implementation of the project "Strengthening the system of consultations for the rural sector", implemented with the assistance of the Latvian side, is of great importance.
 
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Pavlo Klimkin, gave a positive assessment of the bilateral Ukrainian-Latvian cooperation and noted the positive trends in economic development, including the growth of trade turnover for the first half of 2017.
 
The sides paid attention to agreeing positions on the next Eastern Partnership summit in November 2017 in Brussels. The Latvian side assured in its unchanged position regarding Ukraine's support in the matter of territorial integrity, protection of sovereignty and counteraction to Russian aggression.
 
Within the framework of the Riga conference Klimkin met with the President of Latvia Raimonds Vejonis. The President of Latvia stated that Latvia was ready as an important partner in the implementation of reforms to help Ukraine in every possible way.
 
It bears reminding that Ukraine and Kenya will develop bilateral trade in agricultural products, exchange of experience and information on industries, as well as cooperation in the scientific and research field of agriculture.
