Russia announced the outbreak of ASF through Ukrainian wild boars

The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision said that he discovered in the Belgorod region boars that suffered African swine fever (ASF) from Ukraine.

According to the service, in the course of the survey of the territory of one of the hunting farms located on the border with Ukraine, the employees of the Department of Environmental Safety and Nature

Management administration and hunters discovered traces of wild boars that were conducted from the territory of Ukraine deep into the district. In the floodplain of the Oskol River, they found corpses of six animals - an adult female and five piglets. Studies of selected samples in the veterinary laboratory revealed the ASF virus.

Now on the territory of the hunting economy measures have been introduced to localize the virus.
As the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision notes, this is not the first time that boar corpses were discovered in the immediate vicinity of the state border with Ukraine.

According to the European Union, since 2014 in Ukraine, 239 outbreaks of African swine fever among domestic pigs and 30 among wild boars have been registered.
