October 31, the scientific and practical conference "From the catastrophe to the safe future of Polissia" was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on farming and rural development Viktor Sheremeta.
The aim of the event was the development of integrated approaches to rural development in the framework of the implementation of the Concept for the Development of Rural Territories and the creation of an effective chain of public-private partnerships through local development projects in the pilot territories.
In particular, the subject of discussions was the revival of the rural settlement network by the example of the Ivankivskyi district of the Kiev region.
The conference was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine, the State Agency of Ukraine for the management of the exclusion zone, structural subdivisions of the Kiev, Volyn, Rivne, Zhytomyr, Chernigiv and Sumy Regional State Administration, Ivankivskyi District State Administration , agrarian universities, international experts on ecology and rural development.
"One of the main tasks of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy is the formation and implementation of state policy in the development of rural areas. In particular, the work on the creation of an agroecological cluster Medvino, aimed at rebuilding the rural settlement network and creating new jobs for the villagers bordering the exclusion zone, was launched in the Ivankivsky district of the Kyiv region, " says Viktor Sheremeta.
According to him, to create conditions for a dynamic, balanced development of the largest region of Ukraine and to attract funds for budgetary sectoral support, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy initiated the regional development project "Cassette project" Agroecological development of the Kiev Polissya. " The project provides for increasing the attractiveness of the territory for investing in the development of the agricultural sector through the creation of a favorable investment environment, comfortable living of the population through the development of engineering infrastructure, the implementation of educational activities on agro-ecological development of rural areas for the dissemination of experience in other areas of Ukraine.
In particular, during the implementation of this project, the ecopark "Medvino" in Medvino village; reconstruction of livestock farm in Medvino village; the construction of a recreational area in the Olizarivka village; construction of a sheep farm in Sloboda-Kukharska village.
Also within the framework of the project with the participation of the Sumy National Agrarian University, it is planned to create a training and practical center on the basis of which exercises on local rural development will be conducted.
