Every year on June 19, it is proposed to celebrate a professional holiday - "Farmer's Day." The corresponding draft decree of the President of Ukraine was approved at a meeting of the Government today, October 11. After its signing, the Presidential Decree will come into force from the date of its publication.

The date of June 19 was chosen in connection with the adoption on that day in 2003 of the Law of Ukraine "On farming".

"The development of farming and the work of the farmers themselves play an important role in ensuring food security and preserving the Ukrainian village. This is confirmed by the Government's considerable attention to the development of the farmer's movement and approved by the corresponding concept of state support. Establishing an official holiday that would honor the work of farmers will be another push to promote the entrepreneurial initiative in the countryside and will emphasize the importance of the farmer's profession as such, "commented the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Maksym Martyniuk.

The Draft Decree of the President "On Farmer's Day" was developed by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on the initiative of the public with the aim of promoting the development of the farmer movement in Ukraine.
