The introduction of a moratorium on inspections of business entities has provoked an increase in the turnover of the falsifiable plant protection agents (PPA). This opinion was expressed by the director of the Department of phytosanitary security, control in the sphere of seed production, Andrii Chelombitko, for the press service of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, kurkul.com reported.

"During the moratorium, a lot of unscrupulous "traders" took advantage of the situation and began mass distribution, including through the retail network, of falsified and counterfeit pesticides and agrochemicals for agricultural use. This not only negatively affects Ukraine's reputation as a reliable partner in the trade turnover with high-quality vegetable products, but also causes irreparable harm to the environment and human health," Andrii Chelombitko said.

Deputy Head of the Department of Phytosanitary Security, Head of the Plant Protection Department Viktor Stefkivskyi in his turn noted that the market of falsified PPA is 20-30%, and in retail trade it is up to 50%.

According to Andrii Chelombitko, improving the phytosanitary condition of Ukrainian fields is one of the most important in creating a favorable climate for successful harvests and export of plants of Ukrainian origin. A composite of such conditions is the application in agriculture of qualitative PPA, control over their turnover and the requirements of the partner countries of Ukraine in international trade in the production and export of plants and products of plant origin.
