"The theme of livestock development is a global priority given the social, economic and environmental components of this sector. The Ukrainian government, responding to world and internal challenges, deliberately and carefully provides priority support to the livestock sector, laying an unprecedented UAH 4 billion for this purpose in the state budget for 2018, "comments the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Maksym Martyniuk.
It bears reminding that the program of state support of livestock in 2018 is aimed at a comprehensive restoration of the industry, attracting investment, promoting the construction and reconstruction of farms and complexes, and as a result - increased production of livestock products.

Issues on which the Forum's activities were focused were:

- development of the global market taking into account trends in healthy eating and consumption;

- the importance of developing the livestock sector for the purpose of adequate food security, as a factor in the economic development of rural areas;

- sustainable production issues (feed production and supply, management of climate change issues, sustainable management of water and land resources, improving animal health and welfare).

In addition, the Ukrainian delegation held a number of bilateral meetings with the leadership of the agrarian departments of Germany, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, during which issues of deepening bilateral cooperation were discussed.

The key event of the Global Forum will be the tenth Berlin Conference of Ministers of Agriculture.
The outcome of this Conference will be the adoption of the Joint Communiqué, the final document of the Global Forum, which will include the results of discussions in various formats of podiums, working groups, high-level discussions with international organizations and institutions, in particular FAO and the European Commission.
