Ukrainian agroexport amounted to $ 8.6 billion over 6 months of 2018

According to the results of January-June 2018 Ukrainian agrarian exports amounted to $ 8.6 billion. The total foreign trade turnover of agricultural products reached $ 11.3 billion, which is 3.5% more than in the same period of the previous year, and is 23% of the total foreign trade turnover Ukraine. This was told by the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on issues of European integration Olha Trofimtseva, the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reported.

"According to the results of the first half of 2018 Ukrainian agroexport amounted to $ 8.6 billion. Last year Ukrainian agrarian exports reached record results and amounted to almost $ 18 billion. This year we also expect no less result given the conjuncture of world markets for such goods as crops", Olha Trofimtseva said.

According to the deputy minister, grain crops with a share of 36.8%, vegetable oils - 26.2% and oilseed seeds - 7.5% remain the goods-leaders of Ukrainian agrarian exports. At the same time, for the first half of the current year the following commodity groups showed the highest growth rates of exports: poultry eggs - by 2.1 times (by $ 27.7 million), apples, pears and quince - by 5.3 times (by $ 6, 7 million), leguminous vegetables, peeled or not - by 58.3 times (by $ 11 million), butter and other fats made from milk - by 65.2% (by $ 29.2 million), and others.

According to her, the regional structure of Ukrainian agrarian exports has not changed: the first place is occupied by the countries of Asia with a share of 43.2%, the second place is by the countries of the European Union - 30.4%, and the third place is occupied by the countries of Africa - 14.6%.

"Top 5 of our largest customers in 2018 is headed by India, where agricultural and food products were exported for more than $ 1 billion. Then Egypt follows - $ 575.9 million, China - $ 526.6 million, the Netherlands - $ 525.3 million, Spain - $ 470.3 million,"- summed up the Deputy Minister for European Integration.
