The Arab state has agreed veterinary certificates for Ukrainian livestock products.

The State Service for Food Safety and Environmental Health of the State of Qatar reported that veterinary certificates for the export of meat and meat products (in particular poultry and beef), milk and dairy products, table eggs and egg products, fish and fish products from Ukraine to the Qatar states meet all the requirements of the Qatari regulatory authorities.

This agreement came from the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in response to a note of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine No. 650/23-260-548 of February 23, 2018 on the harmonization of the aforementioned veterinary certificates for the export of livestock products.

Thus, Ukrainian producers have another potential importer to sell livestock products.

"This is good news for our stock breeders," Iryna Palamar, head of the Ukrainian Stock Breeders Association commented. - Despite the fact that the population of this state is not large enough (1.9 million people according to 2011 data), it is growing rapidly due to immigrants engaged in oil fields. In Qatar, there is practically no production of own agricultural products, since the territory of this country is deserted. Therefore, they are powerful importers of food products. I think that this is a promising market for us, especially as far as beef is concerned, since the overwhelming majority of the population of this Arab country profess Islam".

It bears reminding that the Ukrainian Stock Breeders Association is actively working towards the development of new export markets for Ukrainian livestock products. In particular, due to the activity of the USBA, a mechanism has already been launched for the development of beef exports to Turkey.
