There is an unhealthy economic growth in Ukraine. It occurs at the expense of trade in imported goods, and not at the expense of production. This was stated by the People's Deputy of Ukraine, member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Budget, Viktor Pynzelyk, on air of Radio NV.

"Last year the Ukrainian economy grew by 2.5%. The industry - 0.4%, agriculture - 2.7%. The question that arises is what gave economic growth? Trade grew by 8.8%. The next question is what was traded, if the industry did not grow, and agriculture went into the red. The imported goods were traded," he noted.

In addition, Viktor Pynzelyk noted that another negative factor was the growth of salaries and pensions last year by 37%, despite the fact that the economy grew by only 2.5%.

"The question is where did this money go? Part of it went to prices, the second part – to imports, the exchange rate ... This is an unhealthy growth," he said.

Viktor Pynzelyk added that this year 6.2% of growth is provided by trade, but Ukraine cannot "raise the economy through the trade in imported goods."

In addition, he said, the problem of investments remains in Ukraine, since the investor needs stability and predictability.
