On July 12, the 4th meeting of the Ukrainian-Netherlands Working Group on Agriculture was held. The Ukrainian side was headed by the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine for European Integration Olha Trofimtseva, and the Netherlands - Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Aldrik Gierveld, the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reported.
During the meeting the parties summed up the implementation of the joint action plan between Ukraine and the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the agrarian sector for 2017-2018, which was signed on April 24, 2017 in the Hague. After that, the representatives of the countries signed a bilateral action plan to deepen cooperation in the sector in priority areas.
"I am very grateful to our Dutch colleagues for active and efficient cooperation in the agroindustrial complex, not only about the development of bilateral trade in agrarian and food products, but I note that the Netherlands now occupies the 4th place among the top 10 countries in which our products are most exported. We are also pleased to note that projects of bilateral cooperation with the Netherlands are practically oriented, implemented in various regions of Ukraine and receive a positive response from our agricultural producers, "- said Olha Trofimtseva, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine for European Integration, at the beginning of the meeting.
She said that following the implementation of the joint Action Plan for 2017-2018 between Ukraine and the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the field of agriculture, countries already had experience in effective projects in such areas as the development of potato growing, the dairy sector, the creation of effective and regulatory public control and awareness of process of implementation of land reform in the Zaporizhzhia region. Mr. Aldrik Gierveld, for his part, thanked his Ukrainian colleagues for active and effective cooperation in the agricultural sector and noted the interest of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the future fruitful cooperation in the field.
According to the results of the fourth meeting of the Ukrainian-Netherlands Working Group on Agriculture, the parties signed a joint statement on cooperation in the field of agro-industrial complex.
In January-May 2018, exports of Ukrainian agrarian products to the Kingdom of the Netherlands amounted to $ 449.9 million. Main goods: crops - $ 203.3 million, oil - $ 110.6 million, meat and by-products - $ 51.3 million, oil seeds - $ 37.4 million, residues and waste products of the food industry - $ 28.3 million and other goods. Import amounted to $ 86.1 million. Main goods: cocoa beans and chocolate - $ 19.6 million, tobacco and its products - $ 11.7 million, live bulbous plants - $ 8.8 million, fish - $ 4.5 million, other food products - $ 4.2 million
