In June the commodity market in Ukraine was somewhat balanced. Prices for farm raw materials ceased to decline, and prices for milk were revised only at the beginning of the month, INFAGRO reported.

It is already possible to say with certainty that the price of raw milk in this calendar year has reached the bottom.

At the beginning of 2018 Infagro predicted in its price forecasts (monthly report on the price forecast) based on milk indexes the average milk price of agricultural producers for June at the level of 8.20-8.40 UAH/kg. This average value 8.27 UAH/kg of farm raw materials we see today.

In general, the prices of milk of agricultural enterprises are traditionally scattered, the goods are purchased and at 9.00 UAH/kg, and at 7.60 UAH/kg, depending on the quality, volume and region.

Population in the middle of June is estimated at an average of 4.00 UAH/kg in the country.

The official milk production figures confirm the established trends over five months. The indicator for the category of households is actively decreasing and pulls the overall result down, thereby leveling out production growth in the agricultural producers’ category, and the growth is considerable.

According to the State Statistics Service, since the beginning of the year, Ukraine produced 3.9 million tons of milk, which is 1.3% less than the same period in 2017. The decrease in households is -3% against the previous year, the increase in agricultural enterprises is + 2.9%.
