The structure of Ukrainian exports was dominated by agrarian products, represented mainly by grain. Supplies of other agro-food products were insignificant.
According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, the trade turnover between Ukraine and the Republic of Korea was $ 591.47 million over 11 months of 2017. The positive balance of Ukraine was $ 8.15 million, ProAgro reports.
Agrarian production prevailed in the structure of Ukrainian exports, but mainly it was represented by grain deliveries, which accounted for 52.2% of export value. Deliveries of other goods were insignificant.
The main obstacle to diversification of food exports to the Republic of Korea is the lack of permission from competent South Korean authorities to supply livestock products from Ukraine. Now there is a certification of Ukrainian dairy products and poultry products. This is a fairly long and multi-stage process.
Unfortunately, in 2017, the export valuation of poultry meat was suspended due to the spread of avian influenza in Ukraine, but recently the work was resumed.
