The bilateral trade turnover between Ukraine and Canada increased by 60% after the entry into force in 2017 of the Free Trade Agreement.

This was stated by President Petro Poroshenko during a joint press conference with Governor-General of Canada Julie Payette, agropolit.com reports.

"Last year there were many achievements in our relations with Canada such as the Free Trade Agreement entered into force, which significantly accelerates and creates better conditions for the development of trade and investment. We already have a concrete result right away, because our bilateral trade increased by 60%, " says Poroshenko.

According to him, this result is a clear evidence of "revival" in the Ukrainian economy.

Recall, exports to Canada in the eight months of 2017 increased by 74%. The Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, Nataliia Mykolska, assured that Ukraine imports goods from Canada, which it does not produce, therefore, the growth of Canadian imports will not harm Ukrainian producers.
