The average value of the FAO Meat Price Index in September was 166.2 points, slightly below its revised value for August. This is reported by the press service of the FAO, agravery.com reported.

The cost of meat in Ukraine since the beginning of this year has got up by almost a quarter, in particular, beef has risen in price by 30%, and pork - by 15%, the press service of the consulting agency Pro Consulting reports, according to Unian.

Exports of frozen and chilled meat for January-July 2018 amounted to 20.79 thousand tons, agronews.ua reported.

Cattle meat production in Ukraine became cost-effective for the first time in 25 years. Beef takes the third place among the production of the main types of meat in Ukraine. Poultry meat is produced most of all in our country. The production of domestic poultry farms is in demand both on the domestic and international markets. Ukrainian pork almost completely provides the domestic market. Its export potential is limited due to the spread of ASF. Beef is the most expensive and laborious kind of meat. In 2017 it occupied only 5.2% of the Ukrainian meat output, pro-consulting.ua reported.

Ukraine is on the first place in the ranking of 52 countries of the world with the most affordable poultry meat and one of the leaders at the lowest price for pork and beef.
