In Ukraine, only 20% of farmers participate in state support programs. This is stated in a study conducted by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), АgroРolit.com reports.

"The results of the survey of agricultural producers in Ukraine indicate a low level of their participation in state support programs, according to the results of the survey, only 20.3% of small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises, including farmers, applied for government support programs that operated in the period from 2000 to 2017", - was noted in FAO.

More than a quarter (25.9%) of representatives of small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises, including farmers, did not know about the existence of state support programs. At the same time, 59% of respondents were generally aware of this issue.

"Only 15.1% of respondents were well aware of government programs and showed interest, at least to some of them," emphasizes FAO.

As for rural households, they were also practically unaware of the existence of agrarian subsidies. 61.2% did not know anything about them, sociologists noted.
