The main set of social products continues to add to the price. As of July 2018, the food basket, which contains kilograms of various vegetables and meat, sugar, flour, bread, pasta, cereals, butter and dairy products, cost Ukrainians an average of 1021 UAH. This is 19% more than in July last year, experts of the Economic Discussion Club have calculated, reported.

Over the last month carrots (+ 13.5%), buckwheat (+ 3.4%), sausage (+ 1.7%) and sugar (+ 1.7%) have increased in price most of all. Prices for flour, chicken, pork, salo, butter, sour cream, cottage cheese and milk remained practically stable.

But beets (-32.9%), cabbage (-30%), potatoes (-8.9%) and eggs (-7.8%) took a beating.

At the same time, analysts say that eggs are taking a beating for consecutive months. And cheaper dairy products are mainly due to the seasonal factor.

Traditionally, the most expensive food set costs (1131 UAH in general) in Kyiv, and the cheapest food can be bought in Ternopil region (941 UAH).
