The Ukrainian Grain Association (UGA), with the support of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, launched a series of free training seminars for representatives of elevators on the implementation of the HACCP system.

Such exercises will be held in 10 cities of Ukraine: Kyiv, Vinnitsa, Poltava, Kropyvnytskyi, Ternopil. Dnipro, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Kherson and Odesa. The first practical seminar began today, on March 2, 2018, in Kyiv. Starting from September 20, 2018, the introduction of the HACCP system is mandatory for facilities that operate with food products that do not contain raw ingredients of animal origin (other than small capacity), so these practical seminars are relevant.

In addition, the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection as the main market regulator in Ukraine exercises state control over the use of permanent procedures based on the principles of the HACCP system. Therefore, starting from September 20, 2018 State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection to check the capacity, carrying out activities with food for the introduction of the HACCP system.

The HACCP system is a management tool that can be applied to a wide range of simple and complex operations, and is not limited to large organizations. The main goal of the HACCP system is to ensure the safety of food and feed at all stages of the food chain "from field to table". Thus, the implementation of the HACCP system at elevators will not only guarantee the safety of Ukrainian grain during storage and transportation, but will also provide competitive advantages and investment attractiveness of the enterprise, as well as increase economic interest in Ukrainian grain on the international arena.

Also, on December 20, 17 the Law of Ukraine "On the safety and hygiene of feeds" was adopted, according to which the requirements for the introduction of the HACCP system extend to the operators of the fodder market, which produce, trade and use feeds, effective from January 2020.
