Rada voted for the bill on farm enterprises

Deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine voted wit 230 votes in the first reading for bill No. 7060, which should support the development of farm enterprises. This is reported by the website of the Parliament on information of agropolit.com.

The explanatory note to this bill states that Ukraine's influence on the world food market has been steadily growing in recent years, but the current state of rural development is still unstable.

"World experience shows that the basis of the agricultural sector of countries with a developed market economy is precisely small and medium-sized agricultural producers - family farms that play an important role in the production of agricultural products and remain a stabilizing link in the economy, compensate for the decline in agricultural production on individual agrarian enterprises, provides the food needs of the population and forms the monetary incomes of the peasants ", - think the authors of the bill.

It is also reported that according to the World Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in family farms - the most common form of farming in rural areas - more than 83% of the gross production of livestock products and more than 51% of crop production in the world. In Europe, family and mostly self-employed forms of farming in rural areas dominate almost all branches of agriculture.

"If you look at the influence of family farms in the EU's agriculture, it is extremely large: about 85% of all EU farms are family farms, and they cultivate about 70% of all agricultural land," is noted in the explanatory note.
