The government forecasts that inflation in 2018 will be below 11%

The government claims that in 2018, an unexpected rise in prices is not expected. In October 2017, Volodymyr Hroisman said that the National Bank of Ukraine had improved the forecast of GDP growth and by the end of the year it will exceed 2%, which means that prices in the country will be stable.

"Next year, we expect 3%, and a slowdown in inflation, this year it will be slightly more than 11%, which is quite natural." Next year, we expect a natural decline, the prices will be stable, and the economy will grow, " says Hroisman.

A similar opinion was expressed by Borys Kushniruk, chairman of the expert analytical council of the Ukrainian Analytical Center. However, the expert notes that one of the main reasons for the rise in food prices is a rise in the price of raw materials, fuel and energy. In 2018, in his opinion, raw materials will not rise in price, and so the prices for food products in Ukraine will remain at the same level.

"The situation with food prices will be better next year, in part because commodity prices in foreign markets have already passed this lag associated with rising oil prices. I do not think that oil will grow next year, if not will be seriously destabilized, in which case commodity prices will not grow, which means that the price of food will not increase, " explains Borys Kushniruk.

The expert adds that this situation will limit the possibility of a sudden increase in prices for food.
