Chicken eggs as of April 2017 to April 2018 rose up by 93%. This observation was shared by Oleh Pendzin, executive director of the Economic Discussion Club.

"Significant growth in prices for eggs began in August 2017, when the cost increased by 7-10 UAH for 10 eggs. Now the average price in Ukraine is 26 UAH for a dozen," the expert said according to GolosUA.

At the same time wholesale prices for the sale of Ukrainian eggs have grown even more. If as of May 14, 2018 table eggs of the first category are sold at 24 UAH per dozen, a year ago they cost in average 8 UAH.

Pendzin states that the whole food basket has risen in price over the year. However, it should be noted that this growth is less significant - only 17%. Including, meat has risen in price by 26%, milk by 17%, fruits by 23%, vegetables by 32%, alcohol by 20%, and bread by 18%.

"This is despite the fact that prices for utilities have remained virtually unchanged. Like the cost of gas and electricity. However, the prices of products rose up"- Pendzin summed up.
