The President signed the law on the safety and hygiene of feeds

On January 16, 2018, the President of Ukraine signed the Law on Safety and Hygiene of Forages dated 22.12.2017 No. 2264-VIII, which comes into force two years after its publication.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

This Law determines the legal and organizational basis for the production, circulation, labeling and presentation of feeds, the regulation of relations between the executive authorities and operators of the fodder market.

It gives the definitions of the main terms, determines the powers of the executive authorities in this sphere, the principles and procedure for exercising state control, the rights and duties of operators of the fodder market, the mechanism for their state regulation of production and circulation.

In addition, the law amends the Laws of Ukraine "On Veterinary Medicine", "On the licensing system in the field of economic activity" and some other laws that are necessary for the proper implementation of the provisions of the "primary" law, which is the Law of Ukraine "On Safety and Hygiene feeds."

The law is aimed at creating conditions for the development of the fodder market in Ukraine and, in particular, will promote the growth of production of quality feeds, and will also reduce the financial and administrative burden on market operators will introduce the equivalent of European legislation norms. In addition, the document will increase the level of protection of animal health, and is an important link in the "from field to table" food chain.
