Outbreaks of pig swine fever create problems for farmers: animal maintenance costs are rising, but they can not be hammered now - with the beginning of the post, the demand for meat has plummeted. Manufacturers believe that for the development of the industry it is necessary to reduce the volume of imported products.

"The market is small, and there is not enough production for export," complains Daniel Duminika, a farmer in the Recha village of Ryshkanskyi district.

Experts also say about the need to protect the domestic market. Local producers, although they offer meat at a bargain price, are however inferior to importers.

"If someone starts importing meat in conditions of glut of the market, of course, this is a problem, while local producers, meanwhile, have increased security measures and incur additional costs, for example, farms are now using more disinfectants."

In early December, the outbreak of swine fever was confirmed in the Khyncheshstkyi district, and before that - in Stefan Voda. Also, the virus was found in wild boars shot in Orheievskyi, Chimishliiskyi and Kahulskyi district.
