This testifies to the relevance of the issues on which the Project is working in conjunction with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.

Since the launch of the project “Creating a food safety control system based on risk assessment in the cycle of production and marketing of dairy products in Ukraine” in October 2015, it was planned that it would end on December 31, 2018.

“Ukrainian agroexport was increased by $65.6 million, compared to the same period of 2017, and amounts to $11.5 billion. The growth of indicators occurred mainly due to such items as rapeseed, wheat, meat and poultry by-products , eggs, nuts, butter, chocolate and other products,” says Olha Trofimtseva.

The spread of African swine fever in China, and more recently in Belgium (near France and Germany), has significantly changed the prospects for the pig industry worldwide.  Prospects for improving export demand have increased after recent events, while the potential for spreading the disease globally has grown exponentially.

79 cases of the disease were registered among domestic animals, 34 - among wild ones. In another ten cases, ASF was recorded on the territory of infected objects.

A total of 434 outbreaks of African swine fever (ASF) have been reported in Ukraine over the past 6.5 years.

According to environmentalists, none of the certified Ukrainian laboratories does not control the use of pesticides by Ukrainian agrarians. Specialized regulatory bodies - the State Service of Ukraine for Consumer Protection and Food Safety and the State Environmental Inspectorate - check only the availability of documents for the use of certain toxic chemicals.

"Since the beginning of the year, the cost of meat in Ukraine has increased by almost a quarter. Depending on the region of Ukraine, retail prices for beef today range from 150 to 200 UAH per kg (30% more than at the beginning of the year), and for pork - 120 -160 UAH/kg (15% higher than in January),"- is said in a statement.

At the same time, the cost of production of plant origin for the reporting period increased by 13.4%, and of the animal - by 17.1%.

According to the report, expenses for material and industrial resources of industrial origin used in agricultural production increased by 16.2% in January-August this year compared to the same period last year. In August, compared with June, expenditures on inventories of industrial origin increased by 1.7%.

This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groisman during a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Ukraine Du Wei.

The Head of Government noted that the potential of relations between the two countries is deepening every year and there are more areas of mutual interest.

These changes are fixed by a special resolution of the Cabinet. Earlier, the authorities provided for compensation of 25% of the costs of agricultural producers for the purchase of equipment, if it is included in the list of Ministry of Economic Development. It includes about 2 thousand names of 60 Ukrainian manufacturers.

Equipment can be bought only with the help of the state banks “Oschadbank”, “Ukreximbank”, “Ukrgasbank” and “PrivatBank”.
