New outbreaks of ASF were registered in Luhansk and Kirovohrad regions

New cases of African swine fever (ASF) was confirmed by researches in Luhansk and Kirovohrad regions.

This is reported by the press service of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.

According to the information of the main department of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in the Luhansk region, the death of pigs was recorded in the personal subsidiary farm of a citizen in the Malokhatka village (Starobilskii district, Luhansk region).

In the study of selected samples of biomaterial in the Dnipropetrovsk regional state laboratory of the veterinary laboratory (Dnipro city), the African swine fever was diagnosed on December 29, 2017 (reports on the results of the study No. 001492 p.m. / 17 dated December 29, 2017).

In addition, according to the information of the Main Directorate of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in the Kirovohrad region, a wild boar was shot in the hunting area of the Svitlovodskyi USHF (Svitlovodskyi district, Kirovohrad region).

In the study of selected samples of biomaterial in the State Research Institute for Laboratory Diagnostics and veterinary and sanitary examination, the diagnosis of ASF was established on December 29, 2017 (reports on the results of research No. 010824 m.p.m. / 17 dated December 29, 2017).

With a view to coordinating actions to localize and eliminate outbreaks of ASF, a meeting of state emergency antiepizootic commissions was held at the relevant regional state administrations, the decisions of which approved plans for the elimination of ASF, the borders of epizootic foci, protection and surveillance zones.

In the foci of the disease, measures are taken to localize and prevent the spread of the pathogen of ASF.
