More than 400 Ukrainian market operators have already implemented the HACCP system

At the beginning of 2018 426 Ukrainian enterprises implemented the HACCP system, 143 were at the development and implementation stage. Thus, we can note that Ukrainian market operators, who have to implement the HACCP system in accordance with the law, are gradually doing this, and progress is tangible. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on issues of European integration Olha Trofimtseva during the round table "Implementation of the HACCP system in the agricultural sector," the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reported.

"The safety of Ukrainian products purchased by Ukrainian or foreign consumers remains vital for us. Therefore, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and the State Procurement Service together with business representatives are constantly working to ensure that the HACCP system at Ukrainian enterprises is efficient and effective", Deputy Minister Olha Trofimtseva said.

She added that the leaders in the number of enterprises that have implemented or started work on the development of the HACCP system are Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Vinnytsia and Kharkiv regions, there are 60, 49, 48 and 45 such enterprises, respectively. And in the context of industries the best indicators are in meat processing and milk processing.

"Small enterprises, which supply products to the end user, with the number of working personnel up to 10 people and with an area of up to 400 square meters. m, or those enterprises that do not deliver products and have personnel of up to 5 people have a time frame for the development and implementation of the HACCP system for another year - until September 20, 2019," Olha Trofimtseva said.

According to the Deputy Minister, failure to fulfill the obligation to introduce permanently operating procedures on the facilities based on the principles of the HACCP system entails the imposition of a fine.

"For legal entities, a fine will be 30 minimum salaries, for individuals - 15 minimum salaries and stopping the operation of enterprise," Olha Trofimtseva noted.
