Information on outbreaks of ASF in Donetsk and Zakarpattia regions

According to the information of the Main Directorate of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in the Donetsk region, on June 19, 2018 in the territory of the hunting grounds of the Krasnolymanskyi State Forest Resources Agency of Ukraine of the Yampilskyi Forestry of the Siversk City Council between Dronivka village and Rudnyk village (Bakhmutskyi district of the Donetsk region) 9 corpses of wild pigs were detected, agronews.ua reported.

In the study of selected samples of biomaterial in the Dnipropetrovsk regional state laboratory of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, DNA of the African swine fever virus (ASF) was detected on 20.06.2018 (report on the results of the study No. 001116 p.m./18 of June 20, 2018).

In addition, according to the information of the Main Directorate of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in the Zakarpattia region on 17.06.2018 in the area of Kyteriv of Irshavskyi Ukrainian Society of Hunters and Fishermen near the village of Khmilnyk (Irshavskyi district, Zakarpattia region) a corpse of wild pig was found.

In the study of selected samples of biomaterial in the Lviv Regional State Laboratory of Veterinary Medicine, DNA of the ASF virus was detected on 20.06.2018 (report on the results of the study No. 000742 p.m./18 of 20.06.2018).

To localize and eliminate ASF outbreaks, a meeting of state emergency antiepizootic commissions was held at the Bakhmutskyi and Irshavskyi regional state administrations, the decisions of which approved plans for the elimination of ASF, the borders of epizootic foci, protection and surveillance zones.

In the foci of the disease, measures are taken to localize and prevent the spread of the pathogen of ASF.
