Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroisman met today with the leadership of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and the heads of state banks and deputies to discuss the working mechanism for distributing budgetary subsidies for the agro-industrial complex.

AgroPolit.com was informed about this by its own sources in the government and the market.

It bears reminding that in 2018 the budget allocated 6.3 billion UAH, where 1 billion UAH was allocated for farming, 4 billion UAH were allocated for livestock and 1 billion UAH was allocated for compensation of interest rates on agricultural equipment.

According to the publication, among the present at this meeting the entire staff of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, five people's deputies, the leadership of all state banks and the leadership of the NBU. Representatives of industry associations were not presented at the meeting.

At the meeting, a working version of the distribution was presented, including 4 billion UAH for livestock producers. In the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Government, there are two ways of using these funds.

The first is compensation to the producers of the interest rate of a bank loan for the construction or reconstruction of farms or livestock complexes. At the same time, it is proposed to compensate 1.5 NBU discount rates, so in practice this will mean a significant reduction in the interest rate - by about 20%.

The second direction of using budget funds is compensation to the manufacturer of 25% of the body of the loan (issued earlier to the manufacturer for similar needs, as in the first case). It is expected that the program will attract commercial and private banks. At the same time, the maximum amount of such a loan is preliminarily determined at a level of not more than 300 million UAH.

The presentation of the updated procedure for the distribution of grants is expected after January 19.
