Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman intends to fight the rise in food prices by saturating the domestic market with Ukrainian goods, and not returning to state regulation of prices, according to Segodnya.

"There were a number of reasons why this happened (the increase in food prices in Ukraine - ed.), but this was due to the fact that the state did not pay attention to a lot of measures and there was a shortage of goods," he says.

In addition, the prime minister noted that in the world markets last year food prices began to grow, which led to an increase in exports and a shortage of products in the domestic Ukrainian market.

"Regarding state regulation (product prices - ed.), It is possible as a measure, but networks and manufacturers have always bypassed this, and in fact this in no way kept growth," says Volodymyr Hroisman.

He recalled that prices in Ukraine grew in all years, despite state regulation. "What is important is that people's incomes outstrip this growth, and that the Ukrainian market is saturated with high-quality Ukrainian products."

This year due to the support of the relevant programs for the development of the agro-industrial complex, including the provision of food, we will saturate the market with Ukrainian products, and such a rise in prices will no longer be, " says the head of government.
