The program of state support of farmers, which was launched this year, should be continued for subsequent years. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groisman during the Hour of questions to the government in parliament, agronews.ua reported.

"We really started to do the target program of support of farming for the first time. What is my goal? I would like us to create real mechanisms to support Ukrainian farming," he said.

Groisman said that the subsidy program should work also next year. "And people need to know and plan for several years ahead, for three to five years, their investments in gardens, cattle, and farms, and dairy products, and with regard to planting material."

The prime minister also expressed a desire that in Ukraine the number of farmers increased by "tens and tens of thousands."

It bears reminding that in the state budget in 2018 the government of Volodymyr Groisman to support agricultural producers laid 6.3 billion UAH, including 1 billion UAH was identified as a "farmer billion", but at the beginning of August, farmers did not receive the promised money.
