The government approved the Export Strategy of Ukraine for the next 4 years

On December 27, the Government approved the Export Strategy of Ukraine: Roadmap for Strategic Development of Trade for the period 2017-2021, which was developed by the Ministry of Economic Development with the participation of business and expert environment. This is reported by the Governmental portal.

The document summarizes the general position of government and business on certain guidelines for the development of trade relations of Ukraine, overcoming obstacles and using all available opportunities for the purpose of export development.

The ultimate goal and main objective of the Export Strategy is to shift to the export of science-intensive innovative products for sustainable development and the success of Ukraine in world markets.

"This is a clear plan of action as Ukraine to move from predominantly exporting raw materials to exporting science-intensive innovative products for Ukraine's success in world markets. The document defines geographic priorities for exports until 2021 (the so-called " markets in focus "), where there are more opportunities for Ukrainian manufacturer. The export strategy also forms the benchmarks for creating light chains of added value, where the Ukrainian producer will receive worthy positions and advantageous opportunities to increase the production of medium- and high-tech products, "comments Stepan Kubiv, First Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development and trade of Ukraine.

He added that the adoption of this document by the Government is an extremely important signal to exporters that the government is aware of and understands the needs of Ukrainian exporters and will continue working to develop the Ukrainian export potential.

"Ukrainian exporters have not only survived, they are developing, they are my heroes, so now, for success on foreign markets, joint strategic planning and coordinated teamwork of the entire government, all ministries and departments, the parliament, President's support, the work of business associations and associations , business, because export is a team game, "- says Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade - Trade Representative of Ukraine Nataliia Mykolska.

The road map defines the strategic objectives of the development of trade in Ukraine for the next four years. Among them: creating conditions for the development of trade and innovation to diversify the export of Ukrainian goods and services, supporting exports from the state, as well as increasing the level of knowledge and skills necessary for enterprises to carry out international trade.

Also, as part of the export strategy, a list of new promising markets was approved that would replace traditional export markets, access to which is difficult due to the political situation. In particular, the top 20 markets were identified, which, if the right forms and tools are chosen, can produce quick results. Among them, besides the EU countries are Egypt, India, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Iran, Saudi Arabia, China, Japan, USA, Canada, Switzerland and Bangladesh.

Technological, innovative, organizational and infrastructural development of international trade requires the introduction of new approaches to the implementation of foreign economic policy, as well as the widespread introduction of the latest scientific and information technologies in production and trade processes. Help the Government to carry out these changes to Ukrainian enterprises, and he demonstrated by approving the Export Strategy of Ukraine for 2017-2021.
