Foreign investments in Ukraine increased by almost 6%

In January-September 2017 foreign investors from 76 countries of the world invested $ 1218.2 million of direct foreign investments in the economy of Ukraine

Thus, $ 1022.5 million of direct foreign investments (DFI) from the EU countries for the first nine months of this year, $ 195.7 million from other countries of the world. The largest DFI was made from Cyprus $464.6 million), Great Britain $ 203, 6 million) and the Netherlands $ 210.4 million).

According to the cumulative result, as of October 1, 2017, the share capital of non-residents in Ukraine was $ 39,719.8 million (from EU countries - $ 28,126.9 million, from other countries - $ 11.592.9 million), which was 5.9 % more than the indicator at the beginning of the year ($ 37,504 million).

The main investing countries to Ukraine were Cyprus - $ 10,201.5 million, the Netherlands $ 6,560.7 million, the Russian Federation - $ 4,393.2 million, the United Kingdom - $ 2,193 million and Germany - $1,819.9 million.

The largest amounts of direct investment received at the reporting date (by cumulative total) were directed to the enterprises of industry - $ 10,849.1 million (27.3% of the total volume), institutions and organizations engaged in financial and insurance activities - $ 10.257.5 million. (25.8%), as well as wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles - $ 5,274.9 million (13.3%).
