By the end of the year pork may rise in price by 7%, equaling the price of beef. However, there are more affordable types of meat - chicken. This opinion was expressed by the Chairman of the Association of Trade Network Suppliers Oleksii Doroshenko in the comment for UNN.
"Pork may rise in price on average by 6-7% by the end of the year, but if experts forecast come true and the price increase is 10%, pork will be compared in value with beef, the kilogram of which on average costs 124 UAH.
Beef, by the way, is also rising in price, but at a slower pace, while the cost of producing this product is higher.
Since it is impossible to store meat in advance, I would advise Ukrainians to switch to more affordable types of meat - poultry meat," Oleksii Doroshenko said.
The most popular poultry meat in Ukraine today is chicken meat, he added.
"Choosing chicken, Ukrainians usually buy fillet or broiler carcass, but there are shins, wings that are cheaper, even compared to the cost abroad. I would advise paying attention to them, they are still undervalued," expert advised.
"World demand for poultry meat continues to grow due to its availability compared to other types of meat. The increase in poultry meat consumption is observed in almost all world markets, so the prospects for the growth of Ukrainian exports are quite favorable".
