The European Union intensified its efforts in the fight against African swine fever (ASF). This is reported by Pig Progress according to UNN.

It is noted that the European Commission recently announced the allocation of 10 million euros for the development of a vaccine against ASF.

"Despite some innovative CReSA-IRTA studies in Spain, a commercial vaccine is still not available," is said in the report.

In addition, the European Food Safety Agency (EFSA) has begun to explore the feasibility of building fences that protect against wild boar migration. Today it is known that effective hunting in the fight against ASF can be provided by continuous hunting for wild boar, the representatives of EFSA stated.

We should note the vaccine against ASF does not exist. We also note that insurance is one of the ways to minimize losses from illness. In Ukraine, such a service is not available today, although earlier the initiative to introduce this type of insurance was repeatedly discussed by specialists and even attempts were made to implement it.
