Epizootic situation on especially dangerous diseases of animals in the world

Between November 18 and 24, 2017, countries reported to the World Animal Health (OIE) on 52 foci of disease.

Over the past period, Russia reported to the OIE five outbreaks of African swine fever in Belhorod (2), Nizhny Novhorod (2) and Saratov (1) regions. Diseases found in wild boars. In the Remontnenskyi district of the Rostov region, the focus of highly pathogenic avian influenza (H5N8) was registered.

African swine fever was found in wild boars on the territory of the Czech Republic (20). The focus of highly pathogenic avian influenza was recorded in South Korea (16), Taiwan (2) and Japan (3). In the north of Germany (1 focus), the bird fell ill with a weakly pathogenic flu.

In Switzerland, we discovered an outbreak of Newcastle disease (1). Veterinary services of Greece reported on pockets of smallpox of sheep and goats (2). In Croatia, a horse was diagnosed with pyroplasmosis.
