The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in 2017 invested in Ukraine about 800 million euros. This is a third more than in the previous year, when investments amounted to about 580 million.
This is reported by lb.ua.
"This is a significant rise since 2016 and a strong start for 2018. We hope to reach the indicators of 2014 and 2015, when the investments exceeded 1 billion euros, " says EBRD director in Ukraine Shevki Adzhuner.
In 2017, Ukraine became the third largest recipient of EBRD loans after Turkey (1.54 billion euros), as well as Egypt (1.41 billion euros).
The volume of investments in 2018 will depend on several reasons, including the privatization process.
"I think that in this context, the law on privatization passed last week in parliament will allow attracting more large foreign investors," says Shevki Adzhuner.
