Due to a decrease in the number of animals on farms, in Ukraine, the production of feed decreased in 12 regions. This is written by the news agency APK-Inform.

According to information of APK-Inform analysts, in July-February, 4.02 million tons of fodder for farm animals were produced at large feed mills of Ukraine, which is 0.8% higher than in the previous season (3,99 million tons).

In the Zakarpattia region production decreased by 36%, and in Kharkiv - by 33%", - experts reported.

They also note that the decrease in feed production is compensated by the increase in indicators in other regions of the country.

"The production volumes in Ternopil, 36% in Rivne, and 24% in Zhytomyr regions increased by 36% .The leader in the production of feed in the current marketing year is the Kyiv region, which accounted for 21% of the country's total production. The volume of feed production increased by 16% compared to last year's figures (855.9 thousand tons against 740.9 thousand tons)," experts said.

According to analysts' estimates, 12.8 million tons of grain crops will be used for feed purposes this season, which is 8.7% less than last year's estimate.

"The reduction is due, on the one hand, to a systematic reduction in the number of livestock, and on the other hand, to a rise in prices and a high demand of traders for the main grain crops, which stimulates an increase in the share of oilcakes in feeds," experts stated.
